Disability Rights ARE Civil Rights
Our amazing team of regulars and part-time volunteers are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? See our form on the Contact Us page for more information!
The reason I started the organization is to educate and bring awareness to members and businesses of the communities about people with disabilities and our disability and civil rights.
Over 54 million people in this country suffer from some form of disability. No less important are the reported statistics of discrimination and hardship they go through every day! Whether you are disabled or are close to somebody who is, you can help everyone understand the plight of the disabled and the continued struggle for acceptance and integration into mainstream society.
The organization was found by me, Terrie Lincoln, a local area resident. I attended Washington State Community College and received my Associate of Applied Science in Social Services. Shortly after graduation, I chose to continue my education at the University of Rio Grande where I received my Bachelor of Science in Public Administration.
Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
Our mission is to protect and promote the human, civil and legal rights of individuals with disabilities and seniors through the provision of consulting, information & referral, community awareness & education, peer mentoring and advocacy.
We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
